Zaytuna Farm

Our Homestead & Living Permaculture Classroom

Zaytuna Farm is a world-renowned permaculture demonstration site and homestead, co-created by Nadia Abu Yahia Lawton and her husband, permaculture pioneer Geoff Lawton. Nestled in Northern New South Wales, the farm is not only a globally respected learning centre, but also the family home where Nadia and Geoff raise their daughter, Latifa…living daily in rhythm with the land they steward. More than a farm, Zaytuna is a place of learning, experimentation, and shared living. It is here that permaculture principles are practiced in real time; across food forests, water systems, soils, animals, and human relationships, demonstrating how regenerative design can support both abundance and balance in everyday life. Zaytuna Farm has welcomed thousands of students, volunteers, interns, teachers, and peers from around the world. Through courses, apprenticeships, immersions, and hands-on education, the farm serves as a global hub for permaculture learning, knowledge exchange, and practical skill-building rooted in lived experience. For Nadia, Zaytuna Farm is also a deeply personal space of ongoing study and reflection. It is where she continues to develop and experiment with natural wellness practices, holistic health, plant knowledge, and traditional land-based living. The cycles of the land observed through seasons, soil, and harvest inform her work and philosophy across all aspects of her life. Zaytuna Farm embodies a core belief that runs through all of Nadia’s work: when people live closely with the land, they naturally create systems that nurture both the Earth and future generations. It is a place where education meets family life, where theory becomes practice, and where regeneration is not an idea but a way of living.
